Atmospheric jazz with animated movie

With Aki, drummer Anke Verslype creates visual music full of inventive, subtle layers. The unique combination of drums with harp, guitar, and bass will make your ears perk up. They present their new album accompanied by reedist Joachim Badenhorst and Niels Van Heertum on euphonium. A dive into warmth and melancholy, somewhere between cinematic landscapes, jazz and minimalism.

Aki's music is characterized by atmospheric jazz with uncomplicated, austere melodies as a basis, which are pushed to their limits during improvisations. They have already released two EPs and their debut album Nader (2022 - W.E.R.F. records). For the new album, they collaborate with animation artist Ezra Belgrado, who adds a captivating visual dimension to the musical experience.
