Dark vocals in loop

Italian bassist Ruth Goller has been shining her light on the London jazz and improvisation scene for the past few decades. Her punky bass lines have made their way through bands ranging from Alabaster DePlume and Sons of Kemet to Sam Amidon and Marc Ribot.

With her solo album Skylla (2021), she hit the road of sinuous harmonies and layered vocals that feel dark. Along those lines, she presents her second critically acclaimed album Skyllumina, out by International Anthem. With a possessed bass guitar, dark vocals and incantatory drums, she creates the ideal conditions to enchant you.

  • 'Global album of the month' ★★★★ bij The Guardian
  • “Breathtakingly beautiful, Skyllumina is a perfect off-the-wall masterpiece.” Chris May - AllAboutJazz
  • "Met muziek die ergens tussen jazz, alternative, klassiek (vooral door die engelachtige koorzang) en eigentijds inhangt, bereikt Goller een hoogtepunt. Het prachtige optreden van vanavond bewees dat des te meer." - writteninmusic
