Sultry songs

The music of Greek singer ΣTELLA (pronounced Stella) envelops you like a warm blanket. On her new album "Adagio" (released on the legendary label Sub Pop), she turns her gaze inward: an enchanting journey through love, longing, peace and time.

The record feels like a gentle meditation, with nylon-stringed guitars, staccato drums, soaring synths and whispering percussion. It was five years in the making with an international cast of musical kindred spirits, including Rafael Cohen (!!!!) and British songwriter Gabriel Stebbing.

Although she sings in English, ΣTELLA also performs two songs in her native Greek for the first time on this album, including a beautiful cover of the Greek New Wave cult classic "Ta Vimata". Live, it translates into a subtle but powerful performance where every note is given space. An intimate concert that takes you to warmer places - slow, sultry and intense.
